A total of 700 square meters of office space was completed in Billnäs’s Ruukki Lähettämö building, which underwent a thorough renovation.

The building built in 1905, as its name suggests, has served as Ruukki’s dispatch office, from where the products have gone all over the world. With the expansion of the embassy building, a new building stock has now been built in the ironworks area, for the first time in 60 years.
The three-year construction contract plays a significant role in the development of the ironworks milieu. The embassy offers premises for business activities that improve the experiences offered by Ruukki and create new job opportunities in Raasepori.

“The rebirth of Lalettämö is an important moment in terms of the experience of the mining area. For a guest coming to Billnäs for the first time, the Envoy is one of those buildings that turn heads and welcome the visitor,” says Olli Muurainen, owner of Ruukki in Billnäs.

The massive construction project has lasted three years and the work has been done with respect for the old. Olli says the following about the construction: “In the building, here on the second floor, we still walk on the same floors as in 1905. The floor on the upper floor is now the most charming detail of the entire building. The soul of the building is reflected in the lacquer surface of the floor. What Billnäs Ruukli has done in its time, it has been done properly. What will be done at Billnäs Ruuk in the future will also be done properly – for centuries and future generations.”

The entire 700 m2 is now available for rent as office spaces of 100 m2 – 700 m2 as separate premises. The building currently houses e.g. Billnäs Chocolate Factory.
