Billnäsin ruukki’s current owner, entrepreneur Olli Muurainen, acquired ownership of the ironworks area in 2008 and began rescue and renovation work in the area. The buildings in the Ruukki area have been renovated for restaurant, event and hotel use. At the same time, the park areas of the iromworks historical milieu have been renovated and the muddy banks of the Mustionjoki have been cleared. Over a thousand new trees and bushes have been planted in the area during Muurainen’s time. Olli plays sports and enjoys a healthy lifestyle, eating vegetable and fish dishes.

Day 1.
A meeting in the Bruksboden meeting room (check availability) offers an inspiring setting for working, not forgetting the beautiful view of the Mustionjoki. A history walk in the iromworks’s landscapes offers a unique opportunity to get to know the region’s rich history.
The afternoon brings more experiences in the form of smoothies and chocolate tastings, and you can choose as an exercise activity either kayaking on the Mustionjoki river (optional), a bike ride in the ironworks’s landscapes (optional), a golf simulator (optional) or a meditation session (optional). Staying, for example, in the Patruuna and Patronessa rooms designed by Muurainen, which strongly follow the style of European boutique hotels.
