The best of Gösta Sundqvist at Billnäs Ironworks 10.7.2025

Minja Koski, Mikael Saari & the Lumos Quartet play Leevi and the Leavings classics.

In the fall of 2024, the combo released the album Göstan parhaat (The Best of Gösta), for which they arranged songs by Leevi and the Leavings for string quartet, two voices, guitar and flute!

The concert at the Billnäs ironworks will feature songs such as Rin tin tin, Pohjoisen taivaan alla, Teuvo and many other timeless classics composed by Gösta Sundqvist.

Minja Koski is a singer-songwriter and actress who releases her own music under the artist name M. With five albums released, she has received rave reviews, won the best Finnish album of the year, been nominated for the Emma and Teosto awards, and performed at major Finnish festivals. Koski has been a guest singer on several projects and has also composed music for theatre.

Mikael Saari is a musician and actor who came to the attention of a wider audience through the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu program, where he competed with the song he wrote himself, On It Goes. The song in question can be found on Saari’s debut album The Grand Letdown, which was released in spring 2016. Saari is actively involved in music and theatre.

The Lumos Quartet is a string quartet formed by friends who showcase the possibilities of strings. The band’s diverse repertoire consists of Niklas Hagmark’s skillful and personal arrangements. Lumos has been heard in the ranks and on albums by famous artists, including Saimaa, Ellips, Pepe Willberg, Pyhimys, Laura Närhi. Lumos features Annukka Nevalainen-Lius, Sirkku Hilanko, Anette Grevberg and Niklas Hagmark.

The Venue, Iso paja

Billnäs is located in the ironworks area of ​​Western Uusimaa in a beautiful river valley.

The concert hall at Billnäs ironworks is an 18th-century industrial hall, the Big Forge. So rain won’t stop the concert.

Billnäs used to be known for its tools and furniture, but now it’s known for its services. The ironworks village has a unique hotel, restaurants, a chocolate factory and cafés.

  • Address: Ruukintie 8, parking is free. See the link below for other arrival instructions.
  • Karjaa railway station is 3 kilometers away. Pre-booking a taxi is highly recommended.
  • Iso paja is an indoor venue. Immediately next to it is a hotel and restaurant, as well as meeting rooms for groups.
  • For large events, the venue has other drinking and food outlets in addition to the restaurant. There are also terraces outside. The river terrace is magnificent and partially covered!
  • The hall of Iso paja is easily accessible by wheelchair, and there is also a threshold-free toilet.
  • Gigs are standing rooms, unless otherwise stated. Elsewhere in Iso paja there are restaurant chairs. Only staff are allowed to move chairs.
