Arppa – Billnäsin ruukki 12.6.2026

An unforgettable musical evening is expected at Billnäsin ruukki, when Arppa, one of the brightest stars of Finnish indie music, and Nössö Nova, who have quickly risen to fame with their fresh and unique sound, will take to the stage. The strong stories, distinctive tones and intense live energy of these two artists make the evening a unique experience in the historic milieu of Billnäsin ruukki.

NÖSSÖ NOVA

Known for their unforgettable gigs, Nössö Nova’s Finnish-language pop music draws from distant rhythms, combining them with relatable snapshots of everyday life. The songs undulate in landscapes of infatuation, boredom, hope and abandonment – places where everything feels lighter for a moment. It is comforting elevator music for the layers of life.

Founded by four friends in 2022, Nössö Nova released their second album, Pitäis ja pitäis, in September 2025. The band, which is embarking on an album release tour after a successful festival summer, has its recognizable polyphonic vocals, gentle harmonies and tonal arrangements flowing towards new melodic ocean currents – still not bossa nova but nössö nova.

The band members are Niklas Nordling, Frans Astala, Eetu Aalto and Severi Koivusalo.

ARPPA

Known above all for his energetic, improvisation-based gigs, Arppa and his band are one of the leading names in Finnish indie music today. Arpa’s delightful music is timeless and his lyrics are like moving pictures – insightful, sincere and meticulously described moods move from Kokkola’s Ykspihlajä all the way through nighttime Helsinki to a secret pub with Laila Kinnunen in July 1958.

Arpa’s band includes influential musicians Ville-Veikko Airaniemi, Eero Seppä and Okko Saastamoinen.

Arpa’s popularity is based on his hard work in gigging and his frequent release schedule. Arppa has gathered skilled and bright musicians around him, which has allowed him to build a beautiful and harmonious soundscape around his atmospheric lyrics. His naturally effortless nature and the sincere joy that emanates from the band’s performances cannot fail to captivate those present.

The artist, who released her self-published debut album, Lava Lamps, in August 2020, has risen at breakneck speed from a promising artist to one of the most current and beloved names in our country. Arppa released her second album, Kinovalon alla, in September 2021, the first edition of which sold out in three weeks. The album appealed to both the public and critics, and the singles released from the album were all played on national radio. The album release was followed by a tour, the gigs of which were largely sold out in several locations. The same year brought the artist four nominations at the Emma gala (Newcomer of the Year, Rock of the Year, Critics’ Choice, Artist of the Year -public vote) and 3rd place in Sound’s Best Albums of the Year 2021 public vote. The third album, Valeria (2023), and the fourth, Muovipussi kummittelee (2024), were released, like the second album, through Johanna Kustannus.

Arppa self-published his fifth album, Peppuni, in September 2025.
